Who operates the website
The OPEN VARIABLE website is operated by Nexvale LLC. This policy covers the publication’s website, research updates and inquiry service.
Information you choose to provide
The subscription form collects your email address and agreement to receive updates. The contact form collects your name, email, inquiry type and message. Please do not include confidential documents, payment-card details or information you are not entitled to share.
Why we use it
We use subscription details to send requested research updates and manage preferences. Inquiry details are used to respond to the request. Technical request information may be used to prevent spam and abuse. Information relating to historical transactions may be retained for support, accounting, legal obligations or resolving disputes. We do not receive full payment-card details.
Service providers
DigitalOcean hosts this website. Resend delivers email messages and Stripe processes direct ebook payments. These providers process relevant information under their own terms and privacy practices. We do not sell personal information.
Reading and browsing
Collection filters operate on records loaded into the page. If you choose external literature search, your query is sent through our server to Crossref. Your name and email are not sent with that query. Fonts, editorial images and the visual brief are served by this website. Following an external citation takes you to a different provider and its privacy practices.
Your choices
Use the unsubscribe link in a research email to stop those updates. For access, correction or deletion requests, use Contact and select Privacy request. Some records may need to be retained for security, legal, accounting or dispute purposes.
Book purchases
Book purchases made through Amazon are handled by Amazon under its terms and privacy policy. For order support, use the account in which you purchased the book. You can read the book description without signing in.
Direct ebook purchases and reader accounts
When you buy an EPUB directly from OPEN VARIABLE, Stripe processes the payment. We use your email address and order information to provide access, send purchase and sign-in messages, and handle support. Full payment-card details are handled by Stripe.
Reader sign-in uses a link sent to your email address. Keep that link and your download links private. To request access to or deletion of personal information, contact julian@openvariable.com. Some transaction records may need to be retained for accounting, security or legal obligations.
Website usage
We count visits and selected actions, such as opening a source or sharing an article, in daily totals. These counts do not use tracking cookies or store names, email addresses, search terms or visitor identifiers. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected for these counts.

Documents you save in the knowledge library are stored in this browser on this device. Clear the list through the library or by clearing this website’s browser storage.
