A contract and an earlier target strengthen the project proposition. They do not yet establish delivered electricity.

The bounded judgment

The announced restart remains a prospective source of power within this public evidence record. Status: Research hypothesis. Scope: Crane Clean Energy Center, Pennsylvania; not other reactors or Microsoft’s aggregate energy supply.

Project context

As of 12 September 2026: The 2024 announcement expected 2028; the operator’s current project page expects 2027. The NRC publishes a sequence of licensing and environmental reviews. A projected completion month has not been treated as an issued decision.

What would change the judgment

Relevant final authorizations and documented operating milestones would strengthen the case for available power. An earlier company target changes the expected schedule; it does not establish that generation has begun. A decision preventing or materially delaying restart would weaken the timing case.

Evidence to follow

The next relevant milestones are the final environmental decision, the remaining restart authorizations and the plant’s operating records.
